handsfree issues, screen goes black and reboots

Bought this truck in 2019 brand new later I came to find out that USB ports didn’t work so I called dealership said they will fix them. They fixed them and ever since that my radio turns off and reboots makes loud echo sounds been doing it for over year now it is so annoying the dealership keeps doing updates they don’t no the problems so I complained to gmc headquarters they said since out of warranty now I have to pay for it which is bull

Cause this problem is Constant and it has been in the dealership multiple times for the same problem and now out if warranty they don’t want to do anything about it I said nope you are going to fix the problem. Gmc and dealership knows there’s a problem but have no solution how to fix it this is such bull. Makes me want to never buy a gmc again till this day my radio still is not fixed

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I have had issues with my 2019 GMC Sierra when on a call or trying to send texts. I could be in the middle of a call and it will echo my voice back to me loudly and then disconnect my call from display and go black screen. I then have to physically touch my phone to put it on speaker to hear the phone call that is in progress and the same for the texting. This happens when it is plugged in with the charger or bluetooth.

It is getting so bad that now it is just rebooting whenever and wasn't affecting the radio until now. I can use the handsfree consistently and now I have to physically pull over on the side of the road, turn off the vehicle, open the door and then shut the door and restart the vehicle.

We have gone in 3 times and been told they can't recreate the issue. I called corporate and got a case number on 6-14-2021 and today 6-16-2021, a woman named Tonia called on the phone and argued with me and told me I have to take it back to the dealer every time it happens. I told her I live an hour away from any dealer and this happens now with every phone call. I said to her you can't expect me to drive an hour everyday, every time this happens, she said that was exactly what I needed to do. She said she has the same issue with her vehicle that is a 2020 GMC. I told her if she has this problem also, then she should know it is an issue and maybe a new radio or recall was in order. She told me that wasn't going to happen. She was rude and not caring about my issue at all. I asked if she had a supervisor and she told me she did, but she was the last stop.

I explained that it took my husband 2 years to convince me to buy a GMC as I loved my Ram and she said her husband did the same thing so she knows.

I told her if I am spending $50,000 I want them to stand behind their product and have some compassion for the consumer. I explained this was a safety issue as I physically have to touch my phone as I have to hang up or put it on speaker when this happens in a middle of a call. I told her I took a video of some of the issue. I don't usually have someone there with a phone to document it. It happens with any phone you connect to the display. I am frustrated that they are not willing to help or listen.
