Hadn't had any engine issues with the truck since I bought it new in 2019. I drove it like an old man (im 41 now) and always changed the oil before it the oil life monitor reached 5% and always with Mobil 1, 0W-20 just like the book suggested. One day after work I got in it just as always and started the truck when it immediately went to knocking. My heart sank, I knew immediately what it was. I had it towed to the only mechanic/technician in the town where I live that was willing to fix it. Luckily he had done 6 of these engines before. I searched the internet and videos and they all had the common denominator, GM's "dynamic fuel management system" was the worst decision GM has made and needed to be deleted. I gave the mechanic permission to do whatever was necessary to get it back on the road. $6548.49 later and a week of him working on it he put it back together. $56,000 brand new and paid off for 2 years! I have lost all faith in GM vehicles moving forward. I was always a loyal GM purchaser, either a Chevy or GMC or Buick but, not anymore. I want to sell this truck and purchase something from the 90's.
