Sierra 1500

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

In 2020, we began experiencing issues with the transmission on our 2019 GMC Sierra SLT, including slipping, bucking, delayed and harsh engagement. We took the vehicle to an authorized GM dealership for diagnosis and repair. At that time, no specific problem was identified, and we were advised to flush the transmission and replace the fluid, which cost approximately $600 out of pocket.

Despite this service, the transmission issues persisted. Between 2020 and 2024, we brought the vehicle back to the dealership four additional times, repeatedly reporting the same symptoms. Each time, we were told no problems were found, and the vehicle was returned to us without any effective resolution.

As the condition worsened, we eventually sought a second opinion from an independent service provider. They promptly identified the transmission issue, confirming our long-standing concerns. We proceeded with the necessary repairs and have documentation and receipts to support all services performed.

Unfortunately, because the problem was not properly diagnosed or repaired under warranty by the GM dealership, we were forced to pay out of pocket for a repair that should have been addressed earlier. We are now seeking appropriate consideration for the costs incurred due to the delayed diagnosis.
