problem #2

Oct 042021

Sierra 1500 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,800 miles

Now my truck is getting the rest of the lifter job done. It has less than 7000 miles and 2 major engine repairs. General Motors has done nothing to help either.

The Rental car company has no economy cars and GM won't step up to a nicer model unless I pay the difference. I drive a Sierra, not a Malibu. There's been two engine tear downs in the first 7 months/7000 miles. This will hurt the carfax of my truck as well, lowering the value.

GM calls today to tell me to go rent a car, pay for it, they will pay it back in 6-8 weeks. They did not even offer me a ride home. I had to call a taxi.

I get the Cold Shoulder when I ask for help or explanations from GM.

Update from Dec 7, 2021: Went to pick my truck up today (7 weeks later). The missing and check engine lights are on again.

I give up.

Sierra 1500 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,800 miles

GMC did nothing but replace 1/2 the lifters. Cheapos... They would not do the whole lifter job, only 1/2. The other 1/2 goes out in 4000 more miles.
