The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45-?"50 MPH in the rain, the tail gate opened unintendedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that cargo in the bed of the truck fell out onto the roadway. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,900.
