Ive had the door handle break on me numerous times. Every time this has happened ive replaced it. It has become a pain in the ass, because there is nothing you can do right away to fix it, therefore you have to roll the window down and open the door from the outside. Then after doing that for about 2 weeks, the outside door handle broke. Its definately annoying to have to keep replacing the same part over and over again. This truck is becoming a money hog. Every little thing that could possibly go wrong has.

I"ve owned numerous Chevy and GM trucks ( Suburbans, Tahoes etc )and have the same problems with door handles either breaking off from the inside or the release mechanism breaking preventing the door from opening from the inside. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND NEEDS A FACTORY RECALL IMMEDIATELY ON ALL AFFECTED MODELS.
1. If a fire breaks out the occupants are trapped inside with no way to escape.
2. If the vehicle happens to become submerged in water the occupants have no way to escape.
3. The power windows have become frozen from snow or ice and there is no way to egress from the vehicle.
As mentioned earlier I've owned several of these trucks and it seems to be a very common problem and its time for the manufacturer to address and correct this problem before they are hit with a negligence or wrongful death law suit. I've discovered the door handle itself is made of cheap ass pot metal and the release mechanism connected to the inside door handle is also of poor quality.
