The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph a knocking noise was present coming from the engine and heavy smoke was seen coming out of the exhaust. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the piston fractured and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer fair grounds GMC (100 fairgrounds rd, rolla mo) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 106,000. The VIN was not available.

In addition, the service trailer brakes error message illuminated, which caused the brakes to fail on the trailer. The contact unattached the trailer and the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was taken to growney motors (1160 main St, red bluff, ca 96080) where it was diagnosed that the heat sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While driving white smoke bellowing out front right tire wheel well. Upon inspection, smoke coming from exhaust pipe clamp near turbo. Smell so bad have to drive with window open. It appears engine on fire from the amount of smoke emitting from under the hood. At idle it get worse. It appears smoke is exhaust fumes leaking from the pipe joint. No engine light to indicate a problem.
