Accident is in litigation; two experts have examined the tire and determined that separation caused by a manufacturing defect. Bridgestone/Firestone has I.D. the tire as manufactured 7th week of 1996 in decateur factory; the is no issue of under or over inflation. The tires that I am reporting are not currently on the list of recalled tires. The problem on these tires are the same as in the recalled tires. The tires are coming apart at the tread line at the sidewall. You can see cracks and bumps at the sidewall/ tread line, and protruding steel belts. I have already filed a complaint with Firestone, but have not had any return contact. It has been a month since I first contacted them. I took the tires to a dealer and was told that they were defective but the only thing that they could do was to prorate them. I told them that this was unacceptable since they were doing the same thing as the recalled tires. These tires are still in my posession if you need proof that there are more problems out there than just the tires on recall. Thank you, regards, joel walton( dot number: Tire size: P245/75/16 )

The first tire failure involved the tread coming completely off the vehicle. This cause significant body damage to the Suburban (about $3000). We were towing a 30' trailer with both instance. The tire pressure were checked prior to departure. The second incident involved a bubble forming on the tire tread. These were the original tires that came with the vehicle.( dot number: )
