Thank God I was stranded in a safe area. Vehicle stalled while idling. Would not restart. Needed towing to dealer. Dealer excellent. It was a Large Timing/Valve Train issue. Removed camshaft cover along with the front cover and found the FIXED TIMING CHAIN GUIDE BROKEN. Also found EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE WATER PUMP AND BALANCE SHAFT CHAIN. Policy called for REPLACEMENT of the High Pressure FUEL PUMP and WATER PUMP AND BALANCE SHAFT CHAIN. Found broken pieces of the GUIDE had fallen into the OIL PAN. Needed to REPLACE OIL. (Cost of repair unknown, but guess dealer would charge +$2,000.00.)

Vehicle under 100,000 mile warranty. No Charge from dealer. I am stuck for $70.00 towing bill. This is the most catastrophic engine failure I have had on a GM vehicle in approx. 750,000 miles.
