Copy of letter to Mr. Thomas D'addario, D'addario automotive group, explaining the serious problems which may have been caused by the mass air flow sensor hose not connected or dislodged during the engine/ECM module replacement. The consumer stated due to the problem, he experienced loss of power and a leaking exhaust and/or catalytic converter. Also, the consumer had to add one quart of oil every 1000 miles and the check engine light illuminated several times.

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact smelled fumes coming from the vehicle and noticed a hole in the exhaust manifold. The dealer made eight attempts to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. No repairs were performed. The current mileage was 24,000. The approximate failure mileage was 134. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 07/21/11 the consumer also stated the air bag system was worked on seven times. Updated 10/11/11
