Terrain SLT 3.2L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

After my first engine failed at 105,000 miles. I had a new long block put in for about $4800. After 50,000 miles on the new long block, The #1 cylinder started misfiring and idled rough. My mechanic said the 1 and 2 cylinders have low compression. Still trying to get the car into a dealer for warranty work, since the engine is under a 3-year unlimited warranty, and it's only been about two-and a half. Will let you know the out come.

Terrain 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Check engine light was on. Took it to the mechanic, had to replace the head on it. Now the check engine lights is on again and engine has a miss to it. How much money am I going to have to keep sinking into this vehicle? It burns oil as stated in my last complaint. I think GMC needs to take a serious look at the engines as to why they have so many serious problems and help their customers. Situations like this can give this vehicle and GMC a very bad reputation. Not that they care.

  • Automatic transmission

The engine was running like crap, it would stall at lights some times, when sitting at light the car would lurch forward. We took it to dealership and they kept car over weekend. when we picked up car they said the cylinders were miss firing due to needing an oil change, well that was a 150 dollar oil change. this was just one of the problems we have had with this car. The first problem was when the steering wheel was about 20 degrees off top center it would start to lock up and engine would bog down. This car is going up to be sold this is the biggest peace of crap car.
