I just purchased this after years and years of wanting one. I finally find one that Is in real good condition. Only to find out the dealership has done all the service on it. They have destroyed this.
The codes for the camshaft actuator solenoids was going on way before I bought this. They say they are replacing them. Then why in the two weeks I have had this GMC. has it come on two more times. Woody's GMC in Naperville Is lying or they are clueless. It is a horrid feeling to feel left in the cold after buying this GMC. So now I will have to find a person who I can trust and try to find a fix. Woody also uses low grade oil. The reason I know this, Is they are the only ones who worked on this 2011 according to the records I found in the glove box. All the oil changes and other work done. So why cannot they repair this problem? MONEY is my bet. They do not get money because I just bought it. But if they keep clearing the code and not fixing the problem. Well, time is in their favor. WOODY sucks and now I feel my terrain will too..!!!! SAD
Update from Mar 3, 2018: Well as I figured.. It is the timing chain. Took it back to were I purchased . And finely after three time the dealership admitted it is chain. So who know what other types of hell will be in the future. So if you have the 2.4 eco engine. And you keep having codes P0014 P0011 P0013. going off. Beware its prolly your chain. Rater then drive it and have it snap and really destroy your engine. Get it fixed. Them codes are warnings. Good Luck to GMC and CHevy owners out there being screwed!!!!! BY General Motors Because they wont recall this issue.... That seams to bestow all that purchase the P.O.S.2.4 and 2.2 engines. CHEAP BASTARDS....

Took it to dealer to repair catalic converter, then told manifold was cracked and 02 sensor was damaged, these things are connected and should be covered under "special warranty " it was also low on oil after 1700 miles from last change, has strange ticking noise upon start up.

I bought my 2011 GMC Terrain in Feb 2012, it was a demo car and came with 8000 Klm's on it. I have had nothing but problems with it. I should of looked into the lemon clause because it was not worth the $38,000 it cost.
My dealership gave me the run around at every appt. They couldn't feel the hesitation or the vibrating, brakes weren't squeaking or pulsing. I bought extended warranty and they said I didn't have any. O2 sensors are being destroyed like a child eats candy. Check engine light is on, I have had the oil changed and in 3000 klms have my oil dirty and sluggish. There has been one issue after another, the car has stalled and would not start. I had the drivers electric seat go from the position I had it, down to the floor. The back tail gate has rusted after 1 year of ownership, and around the back brake lights. I had it into the dealer who fixed it and less than 6 months later its back again.
I have had the steering stick and not be able to turn the wheel. Timing chain changed, wiper motors changed, window motors changed, top pan gasket changed, plugs changed, fuel sensor changed...and numerous things. Funny part is, well over half the stuff was not covered or they couldn't find it at the dealer, but a private garage did, it cost me lots to fix and there is still lots of problems. There are more problems then the ones I listed, but there has been so many its hard to remember them all.
I will never buy from that dealership again, nor would I buy a GMC again. I will not take my car which only has 61000 klms on it as of today, Dec 12/16 over the highway. There has been recall after recall on this vehicle, but the dealer never has the parts, and you have to wait till there is a problem to get it fixed, then there is 3 problems...which another recall comes out on after its done, and they will not reimburse you, cause I refuse to let them at my vehicle. They fixes one thing and a week later another thing happens for it to go back into the garage.
As of today, the check engine light is on again, I cannot use the car starter, she is hesitating again and sometimes has a miss, then it feels like the car will take off at a light with a over rev while braked. I pressed the window up button to make sure the kids have the windows up and the lights dim and the radio goes off for a few seconds. This vehicle is a lemon.

Only 70 km after leaving dealership to fix water leaking into spare tire area the engine light came on. Yes water had been building up to about 2 inches under the spare tire. Fix was to replace the patch behind the tail light.
On going problems with this vehicle such as cracked exhaust manifold, loss of oil through engine, also another time no oil on stick oil pan was leaking there is no gasket such silicone bead around pan. Piston and oil rings replaced because of oil consumption, ECM need calibrated as per recall. Wiper transmission assembly was replaced because it kept coming off pivot. Cmp valve stopped working. Camshaft actuator stopped working. Intake valve stopped working when commanded be on. Another engine light came and stalled while driving. Cylinder misfire the ignition coil was replaced. Recall on seat adjuster bolt. Low oil pressure msg on cluster. Water found in air cleaner assembly. Needed rear seal replaced. Going to dealer again 5th time in 2 weeks

CAR STALLED AND I COULDNT DRIVE IT MORE THAN 10 FEET WHEN LIGHT IS ON, CAR WONT SHIFT RIGHT, CAR HAS NO POWER WHEN LIGHT IS ON, COSTING WAY TO MUCH TO REPAIR AND TOO MUCH TIME DEALING WITH MECHANICAL ISSUES.
