I have always owned GM vehicles with leather seats and NEVER had a problem with the seats & console splitting, cracking or ripping. When I purchased the new Terrain, I felt confident that I was purchasing the same quality product that I had been accustomed to. The 1st split occurred in the seam and over the period of several months, the top of the console started splitting and the left side of the driver's seat is cracking and peeling off. It obviously is NOT real leather....When I went to the dealership, I was told that I should have brought it in prior to the 36,000 mile warranty, it had 38,000 miles on it and there was nothing they could do. The dealership gave me a # to call of someone who repairs leather seats. I called, sent pix and was told that the seats cannot be repaired and will have to replace leather on entire seat....I can't believe that GMC doesn't stand behind their product any better than this!! I have a SUV with less than 42,000 miles on it now and it looks like an older model vehicle that has 100,000 miles on it with more splits and cracking occurring. The leather can't be REAL leather....any suggestions as to any other options that I have?????
