Terrain SLT1 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 126,000 miles

I have only had my Terrain for two years, I am a elderly woman with a low paying government job, I need my vehicle for work but cannot afford to fix it. I still owe 11,800.00 on it. GM use to make a vehicle a person could be proud to own, the company is gone way down on standards and the customers are paying the price. I need GM to step up and pay for their faulty engine.

Terrain SLE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

My terrain lost all power while driving down the interstate at 80 miles per hour. After I was able to pull over, I found that there was no oil per dipstick. My car only has 87,000 miles on it and I never had any indication that anything was wrong with the car. I did not have any warning lights, over heating, or changes to the sound or function of the engine up until the point it failed. I have serviced this car regularly and take extremely good care of it.

I had my family in the car and it is extremely scary to think about what could have happened if I had not been able to safely make it to the side of the road. After some research, I see that GMC has had a long history of similar engine issues and a class action lawsuit was filed against them in Missouri for the same issue.

Not only am I out the price of the car ($8,400), but this issue also put me and my family's life at risk.
