I purchased my first GMC terrain, after driving Jeep Grand Cherokees for 15years. My 2012 Jeep was stolen out of my driveway. The police told me car thieves have phone aps to steal Jeeps. I heard GMC has on-star, which can remotely stop the car. I leased the Terrain after a drive around the dealership area (all flat topography).
The first time I went up a hill, I found out this full-size SUV is a 4 cylinder. I'm afraid of getting killed trying to pull onto a busy highway -it has absolutely no pickup or power. On top of that, it is so noisy. It has a high pitched whine like its stuck in 2nd gear, plus, it whistles. I called my salesman and he said, "what do you expect, it's an entry-level car". Of course, this was never mentioned when we were talking about buying it. I am so upset. I took it to service dept and asked them to test drive it on some hills. They put me in a waiting room for over an hour, and told me "it is what it is, and the 6 cylinder is only a little quieter". They are noisy and they do whistle. He did say, that it gets a little quieter after time.
I've had this car for 2weeks now and hate this car. It's so embarrassing watching other drivers look to you when they hear your car trying to get up the hill. I live at the top of 3 hills. I explained this to the salesman. I would've thought he would've realized he couldn't put me in this car with a lawn mower engine in it after driving 6 cylinder Jeeps.
