On 1/10/18, I was on my way to work and received message "engine power reduced", the engine light came on and power was reduced to 25 mph. I brought the Terrain into a mechanic and he synchronized the gas pedal sensor and fuel sensor and the engine light went out. On 1/13/18, the same thing happened except I was on a highway and it was much more frightening. I brought the Terrain back to my mechanic and left the vehicle. I am now without a car for the weekend.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that the water pump, timing belt, gasket kit, and chain links for the timing belt failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After being serviced, the vehicle later began to lunge forward and the gears attempted to shift. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,461.

Engine keeps shutting off while driving; would have to guide the car off the road and restart. Radio shuts off; all electrical systems shut off and car would have to be restarted. This has been happening after the car was purchased sporadically since last year. The vehicle was turned in for service on the issue, however I was informed that they found nothing wrong. Just this past week till now, the cars engine and electrical system starting shutting down again while driving or while in parking mode at least more than 6 times.

To whom it may concern, yesterday, 3/22/15, my wife and I were driving while carol took her foot off the gas pedal as we were approaching a stop light. At that time the car started accelerating. Is this a new problem or has it been reported before" who do I contact to investigate this issue and ensure that my vehicle is safe" my daughter bought a 2014 GMC Terrain last year and I'm concerned about her vehicle as well.
