transmission hard downshift

Well, the hard downshifts while coming to stop are still there. Took the Terrain to the dealership and personally drove their transmission specialist with me and he noticed the problem. He explained that the 6T45 is a light duty transmission also used in sedans and that it may struggle with the weight of an SUV built like the Terrain. A case of GMC squeezing a dime at the expensive of customers in my book... I asked if they experienced other customers with the same Terrain/powertrain complaining of the same issue, and he confirmed they definitely have. He said he's done a complete tear-down on a transmission chasing this same issue and called GM and was told "don't bother, it's not fixable." Frustrating... We shoudn't have this problem on a new vehicle. My wife and kids are in this car and if the transmission eventually fails in a more catastrophic manner, then they could be seriously injured or worse! Transmission related problems like this are definitely safety concerns in my book. You would think that would be taken more seriously by GMC (the company... The dealership was very accommodating and professional, but GMC isn't taking this seriously).
