Terrain Denali 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 109,000 miles

Driving down the road, went to apply brakes at a light, pedal was really stiff and unresponsive. I had to swerve to the right and was able to come to a stop right before entering the intersection, I had passed 5 cars on my left and the vehicles in the right turn lane were able to get out of my way before I came to a stop in the hatch marks of the intersection. I slowly limped my Terrain about another mile to where I could safely pull over in a gas station parking lot. Right as I cleared the intersection where I had problems the car told me to service the brake assist, then about a half mile later the vehicle informed me that it was going into limp mode. Upon safely parking at the gas station I opened my hood and noticed quite a bit of oil coming from where the brake assist is located on the side of the engine. I had lost about a quart and a half before I was able to pull over. I told that back off then waited for my fiancé to come pick me up. We started the vehicle long enough to move it to a different parking spot and went back the next day with a dolly. Started the vehicle long enough to drive it into the dolly. Engine sounded ok at this time.

We have since removed the faulty, broken, exploded brake assist. Which is in multiple pieces, some of which we still haven't recovered and my be inside the engine. Unsure of what to do at this time. Since this seems to be a common problem with this model gm should issue a recall. I still owe over 28,000.00 on this car. I really hope I don't have a very expensive yard ornament.

This problem is on a lot of other years and models a lot of 2018 cars but not the terrain WTF!!!! My kids were in this car we were doing 65 MPH and trying to slow to turn onto our road to go home. I'm not a pro driver but I have been driving from age 9 and am now 45. If my wife was driving we would have all gotten hurt and wrecked the car. GMC is crap anymore for a car. If I buy an American car ever again it will be MOPAR never a GM again. And I was Raised GM my whole life. Sad times we live in move all the work to Mexico to save cash and skimp out on the real craftsmanship they had in DETROIT. GMC and GM need to go right to hell. So why all the other 2018's get a recall and terrain's and couple others don't? Someone need to die first ? Guess a gm chairman should have this problem. Bet they don't drive what they build!!! This fix is costing me almost 1500$ in parts and tools. I want GMC to pay me that all back. I make minimum wage MF's!
