Not computer literate. As soon as I can figure out how to transfer pic from phone to computer I will post the invoice/ bill. Was filing some papers away and found the invoice. Friends still tell me I should write GMC because this is wrong, but GMC isn't going to do anything, they'll find a reason why it's my fault rather than admit guilt and open up a can of worms. January, one of the coldest days of the year, going to a funeral. Stop for gas, getting back on I-55, RPMs are racing but car is going into limp mode. Stop at an auto parts store. Hook up tester. Smaller airport nearby, has car rental, rent car, manager of auto parts store allows me to leave car there. 2 days later, get car towed 125 miles to dealer. Notes on invoice include: cyl 1 misfire, plug is oil fouled. bore scoped cyl and found gouges down the cyl wall due to broken piston land and ring. Dealer offered me $500.00 for the car, or $12,000 for new engine. Couldn't afford a new car and being 500 miles away from home, wasn't taking a chance buying a used car. So, I rented another car to go home, came back a week later, have a new engine with a 100,000 mile/ 3 year warranty. I am angry because the car only had 88000,and I do take care of the car because I know I can't afford to buy another and I live rural, so I need the car to be in top shape. How is someone suppose to know they have a cracked piston until the car pukes?
