Orginal delco battery leaked acid all over fender well and floor of garage. Upon investigating, found that positive post was loose from battery and leaking. Replace with another delco, suppose to be a better model and corrected the problem they were having. Again in about 18 months, the same thing again. Replaced again with same problem, this time I bought a sears die hard, and hopefully solved the problem. Heard the same storey from at least 10 friends and business associates. Should have realized they had a problem. I think it is in the bolt (terminal) disign. Shorter bolt (terminal) on negative side, and either the longer bolt on the positve termanal was piercing the inner wall of the battery, or it wasn't going in far enough and causing an electrical bad connection, causing a heat build up. I think you will find in most cases this was the same problem, and bolt was coroded to nearly nothing in the center of positive bolt. I see where on the newer G.M. trucks this has been changed and I sure hope I don't have that problem. Thanks for listening.
