1999 GMC Yukon 4WD with 110,000 miles. ABS activation at low speed (4 mph and less), and causes increased stopping distance, happens regularly. Have had several close calls, and one incident that did not result in injury or damage to either vehicle. News report dated August 30, 2005 stated GMC was recalling about 800,000 sport utility vehicles and pickups because of corrosion was affecting the ABS leading to more than 200 low-speed crashes. GM recall #05V-379 suggest that 1999 vehicles are subject to recall, but GM customer service line and local dealership denies that the recall applies to my vehicle.

1999 GMC Yukon 4WD. ABS activation at low speed, increased stopping distance, happens regularly. Several close calls, but no collisions (yet). NHTSA campaign id #05V379000, GM recall #05V-379 suggest that 1999 vehicles are subject to recall, but GM customer service line denies that the recall applies to my vehicle.
