Bought the car brand new in 2001. Have maintained it very well and it runs great, even now at 10 years old and with 140,000 miles on it. The only problem is it looks like crap. The paint has cracked and peeled off all over the car, including the roof, the hood, the side panels. Basically every side of the car has a paint like cancer on it. What the hell? If GM, would have told me that the car paint job would only last eight years, I surely would not have paid $50,000 for it. I think they should re-paint it.

Carried truck to dealer as GM requested when I called them they said it was a manufacture paint defect but because of the age and milage would not fix my problem and I would have to pay to have this fixed this sucks is the paint supposed to fall off your truck afetr 10 years . This is not little pieces either sheets aprox. 10 inches by 20 inches ,all shapes and sizes down to metal corrosion primer coating clean as a whistle.no hail damage truck kept inside . I own a 1955 chevy and the paint is faded but has not come off in sheets this is not supposed to happen .GM sucks!!!!!! they know it's their problem but they refuse to do the right thing. Paint my truck!!
