- replace ABS module (9 reports)
ABS module failed again on me on 04/14/11. Had to disconnect the battery to stop the motor from running, which would definitely run the battery dead over time. Then I just located and disconnected the ABS module under the driver's side. Seems to be a common problem with this year vehicle. I'm surprised there's no recall on this.

Second time the ABS module has failed on us. I notice both times it failed after putting new tires on the vehicle. Don't know if there's any correlation between the two. I like the 2001 GMC Yukon. This is the only issue we've had with it. I wonder why there hasn't been a recall on this ABS module?

Do not go to your Dealer or mechanic to fix. It'll cost you $1,200-$1,500. I'm getting the module re-machined at Module Master for under $200.00 with a 5 year warranty. Very easy site that provides directions in getting the module removed. Use the internet for fixes not just grips. :)

This is the first time that I had to replace the ABS module but it's a real pain at under 60,000 miles and not under warrantly.

This is the second time I have had to replace the ABS in the 6 years I have had the car
This is insane!!!! GMC knows that the braking system is too small for this vehicle. It is
unfortunate they don't step up and take care of the problem. I have read many
complaints for the same problems on other web sites.

this is the second time the abs system has failed on this vehicle. gm should do something about the quality of their abs systems

this problem should have been fixed under warranty. i filed a complaint with gm but they would not fix this. this part should not be going out after 56000 miles

Replaced ABS module after it ruined my battery. ABS would run even with the key out very loud. I pulled the fuse and had the module changed. I wasn't home and my wife didn't know what to do so it quickly discharged my battery beyond repair. This is an expensive part close to $900 plus $60 or so labor and a battery.
