problem #1

Aug 012012

Yukon Denali 6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

IN 2012 STARTED HAVING INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS UNLOCKING THE REAR DOORS AND TRUNK LID WITH KEY FOBS. KEY FOBS CHECKED OUT SATISFACTORY. AS TIME PROGRESSED, PROBLEM GOT WORSE. TOOK THE YUKON DENALI TO A GMC DEALER IN BRADENTON, FL. CHANGED OUT TWO COMPUTER BOARDS FOR A BRIEF FIX, AT MY EXPENSE.

PROBLEM RECURRED AGAIN SOON AFTER REPAIR. SAME DEALER CHANGED OUT THE BOARDS AGAIN...NO FIX.

WENT TO MAINE FOR THE SUMMER AND HAD ANOTHER GMC DEALER LOOK AT IT. HE PROMISED THE REPAIR THIS TIME WAS POSITIVE...CHANGED OUT THE MASTER SWITCH IN THE PASSENGER DOOR, AGAIN AT MY EXPENSE. FIX GOOD FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. PROBLEM CAME BACK AND NOW CANNOT GET REAR DOORS NOR TRUNK LID OPEN AT ALL USING THE KEY FOB.

CURRENTLY, I CAN UNLOCK REAR DOORS FROM INSIDE, BUT NO WAY POSSIBLE TO OPEN THE TRUNK LID. THERE IS NO KEY ACCESS POINT ON THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE TRUNK LID. THIS IS MUCH MORE THAN JUST AGGRAVATING....
