problem #1

Yukon SLT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

ABS trouble light and stability control lights would go on intermittently. They finally failed and stayed one. A shop diagnosed the problem was with the ABS module. Upon removal, it was clear that the failure was caused by a leaking gasket between the ABS module and the ABS pump. Three of four of the screw holes that hold the module in place were cracked due to incorrect torquing during manufacturing.

I replaced the module with a rebuilt one, the shop reprogrammed the replacement module.
