9-28-04: My 2004 GMC Yukon had 22643 miles on it. I went to get in the car that morning to start it up and it would not start. The vehicle was still under warranty and had to be towed to the dealership. Mechanic stated that my fuel pump had went out. I was told that the fuel pumps on these vehicles were faulty. They replaced my fuel pump. 5-24-05: My Yukon had 50012 miles on it. I got in the vehicle that morning to start it and it would not start. Once again it had to be towed into the dealership. The mechanic stated that my fuel pump went out and had to be replaced again. This time it cost us approximately $900 to repair. They informed us that the newest fuel pump had a lifetime warranty and if it happens again we will not have to pay for it. When my husband asked why the 2nd fuel pump they put on did not have a lifetime warranty, we were told that GM doesn't warranty any warranty parts. Both times this happened I was stranded with my 3 young children. Each time they replaced the fuel pumps but they cannot tell me why my fuel pumps seem to quit approximately every 25000 miles. I have contacted GM and they can't give me any answers either. I am in the process of trying to get them to repurchase my vehicle.
