Yukon Denali XL

2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL....TAKATA airbag recall, received letter from GM July 2016 that we will be notified when remedy is available. Then mid 2017 received notification card from TK Holdings telling us to use www.airbagrecall.com and follow instructions on website to see if our car qualified for free airbag replacement. We did this and it stated that we call one of about 10 GMC dealers listed in IL to set up appointment to have airbag replaced free of charge. Called one of the dealers listed on the website and dealer looks up our vin on GM recall website which states recall status: INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. How could we sell this car with this major, unfixable problem? It is paid for, we are the original owner and except for this airbag issue, we really love this vehicle, and want GM to find solution sooner than later as we have three teenagers just now learning to drive on this vehicle with a faulty/dangerous airbag. We cannot afford to buy a new car. We would rather just have the airbag uninstalled than live with the dangerous effects of basically shrapnel being ejected from the deployed faulty airbag into the faces and bodies of our children, family or friends. GM needs to remedy this before more people are seriously injured, maimed or killed.

Light on my Yukon for Air bag just stayed on...without going off..so finally paid for analyst to figure out...because my horn and cruise control with the rest of control buttons on steering wheel just stop working. The result was a clock spring and right front impact sensor. Which would cause the effect on controls on Steering Wheel. $$$$$..that's gonna be an expensive repair!!! Kinda need my Horn and cruise controls to work and AIR BAG!!! My Horn is right up there with Air bag as far as Safety would be concerned.
