Yukon 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,005 miles
On November 25, 2007, I was traveling on I-540, approx.65 mph, a car pulled in front of me. When I applied brakes, vehicle "zig-zaged", I never thought it would roll over. Onstar called - I told them what happened and that I didn't need any help. About 20 minutes later going approx 45 mph. Ran over something, didn't seem as big as a pothole - both side airbags deployed. Onstar called thinking I had been involved in an accident. I told them what happened and that I was 10 minutes from home and that I could get there without calling for assistance. Had vehicle towed to dealership (autopark Buick, Pontiac, GMC in wendell, nc.(I think it was towed on 11/29/07). Reported to GM, finally received a call to advise that it was my fault and that GM would not pay for the repairs, on 12/26/07. Requested a copy of the report in writing, which I finally received after 2 requests on 01/19/2008. Their report states that there was only 1 event - 44 mph - rollover sensor deployed the airbags. I called to ask that they review the information again or have the "recorder in the car" checked. I was told the file was closed. Contacted onstar and received a letter confirming the 2 events. Called GM back to tell them I had new information that supported the fact that there were 2 events, and that something was wrong on GM's end - either the recorder was bad or the data collected was accidentally entered incorrectly. I was told that the file was closed and would not be reopened under any circumstance. Vehicle still at dealership - not repaired in case another inspection needs to be made. I believe this is a defect and GM should be responsible for the cost of repairs.
