It is unacceptable to pay this much for a vehicle and have this occur. GM has known about this problem and refuses to fix it.

EVERY 2011 GMC DENALI OWNER I KNOW REPORTS THAT EXACT SAME WEAKNESS IN THE DASH AND THE EXTENSIVE CRACKING ACROSS THE TOP OF THE DASH...THE REAL CONCERN NOW, IS A SAFETY CONCERN, BECAUSE THE CRACKING HAS CONTINUED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT NOW...GM REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING BY ALL THEIR FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS AND REPAIR THIS FLAW IMMEDIATELY...

The dash cracked two weeks after I purchased this vehicle with only 38k miles on it. So disappointed that GMC is not holding themselves accountable for this haphazard screw up. This is not only horrific looking but it is unsafe especially around the airbag deployment.

While I realize this vehicle is out of warranty, this is not a part that suffers wear and tear like tires and brakes. A five year old vehicle that had a sticker price of roughly $70,000 and ends up with a material defect such as this should be taken care of by the automaker. I have read safety concerns of the possibility of plastic shards due to such cracking should there be an accident. I agree this may be a safety concern, and even if it weren't, this dash cracked with absolutely no provocation. Further, the vehicle is housed in Michigan and is garaged overnight. During summer months, when at my office parking lot during the day, a dash cover is used. Whether this is bad plastic or a molding process that put stress on certain areas of the dash, this is a material defect GM should stand behind. To their credit, my local dealer has agreed to cover roughly half the cost just to keep a happy local client. Because I used the formal GM path to no avail, I am reluctant to let the dealer absorb the financial downside which the company should bear for its faulty product. If my situation is not handled differently, I will simply vote with my feet and purchase from a different manufacturer in the future.

The dash is cracked in 2 places. It constantly rattles going down the road. I'm not sure of the safety ramifications of the cracks.
