Yukon Denali 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,500 miles

I took my 2016 GMC Yukon XL Denali to my dealer to have new software loaded into the abs computer for the latest recall for hard brake pedal account low vacuum one week ago. We wanted to get this done before our long drive from Ohio to Florida for vacation. I was sitting at a red light yesterday for about a minute or 2 and when I tried to take off the vehicle stalled out. First time it has happened to me.

I have had sluggish take off before with little to no response from the accelerator about a year ago after sitting at a red light but it never stalled out. The no response without a stall status happened like 4 or 5 times but when I took it to the dealer of course they couldn't duplicate it and it never did it again so I was happy but concerned.

Today, second day in a row, again I was sitting at a red light for a little over a minute and again with the vehicle in drive and my foot on the brake and when the light turned green I tried to accelerate normally and it stalled out again. Both times I was on an extremely busy 6 lane each way intersection and both times with my left turn signal on, but not really turning yet. So it really wouldn't fit into the other complaints I seen about stalling when turning.

I think maybe it could have something to do with the software fix they installed for the hard brake pedal recall because it never stalled on me before this. Just an observation but there may be something to it. When I return home I will take it to the dealer unless it gets worse in which case I will have to have something done while I am still on vacation. In any case I will update with a fix if they can duplicate and fix the problem.

Yukon Denali Xl 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,500 miles

4 Week old 2016 Yukon Denali XL, has stalled 3 times in last 4 weeks, Engine cuts off after a left or right turn, and It has to be restarted! Could have easily had an accident or worse. Took it to the dealer, 3 times. 1st two times, all of service dept. could not diagnose the problem. Today, after a stall, called Onstar, ran a diagnostics, found nothing of value , I left it at dealership and contacted District Mgr. Matt Tillson . I Was told that they would escalate the issue. I did tell dealer that GMC and dealership would be at fault if vehicle is in an accident and dies while I am driving. I did not want the vehicle back without the problem having been fixed.

4 Week old 2016 Yukon Denali XL, has stalled 3 times in last 4 weeks, Engine cuts off after a left or a right turn only after a short drive out of home. The SUV has to be restarted! I did not want the vehicle back without the problem having been fixed. its day 11 today. I was notified that there is a problem in the electrical harness...in short , they replaced a bunch wiring in vehicle, and while doing so , incorrectly reassembled the interior cab . So now they are ordering a new dashboard assembly to fix the problem!
