Yukon Denali XL 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,640 miles

We purchased a brand new GMC Yukon Denali Xl on November 13, 2023 for Wyatt Johnson in Clarksville TN. Shortly after we purchased this vehicle it left them stranded on the side of the road close to Dickson Tn. It happened on Jan, 24th 2024, with only 2640 miles on the vehicle. They towed it to the closest dealership, which was Nick Mayer in Dickson. The diagnosis was complete engine failure. Mayer's said it could take weeks even months before they could get us an engine. I reached out to our dealership in Clarksville, they stated there wasn't much they could do since the vehicle wasn't towed to them. They did state if we could have the vehicle towed to them they could have an engine in about a week. Since the dealerships were so far apart, We would have to pay to have the vehicle towed. I reached out to roadside assist and explained the situation, they said that they had a 25 mile allotted free transfer so we would have to pay the overage. I agreed because we needed the vehicle as quickly as possible. After arriving at Wyatt Johnson, they found metal shaving in the lines along with Crankshaft damage & radiator damage from the metal shavings. They had to order an engine so that meant they had our vehicle from January 24th - February 7th, 2024. That's 15 days without our vehicle to work out of. We requested a loaner comparable to the XL since we use every square inch of an XL. The dealership only had a Yukon, which doesn't give us nearly enough room to pack everything we need for our daily surgery schedule.

We requested a buy back of which they said no, that this is not their normal protocol for 1 problem. They would consider a trade but the value could be less on a trade in due to now being a used vehicle now.

On April 9th, The Leveling Module went out on it. Again it was at the dealership close to our Nashville office (Beaman GMC) for another 16 days.

According to the Lemon Laws of Tennessee a brand new vehicle that has been in the shop for cumulative repairs of 30 days is considered a lemon.

May 21st, 2024 Now it is back in the shop because the transmission is shifting hard, and the Start Stop now shuts the vehicle down and throws into neutral and you have to wait and try to restart.
