My car doesn't run most of the time, no start at all, sometimes I have to wait for hours stuck somewhere or in the middle of the road, here's the thing, i assumed many types of problems that my car had. 1st was the fuel pump, 2nd was the fuel filter, and 3rd was the distributor... I replaced my distributor but did the same thing, won't start and starts sometimes, cost me like around $400 bucks to fix it.

Then I found out about the thing called "MAIN RELAY", the problem about this main relay thing is when is gets hot, the chip board in it expands and causes to break some of its parts inside. Main relay problems occurs most often every summer season and when you turn on the heater in your car, it will start at first if its cold in your car, but after you turn on the heater in like at least 10 mins. the heat will reach the main relay and causes it to expand and loosens some connection. The Main Relay will cost you less than $100.. I got mine for $64 and it's easy to fix. You can replace it yourself. Here's the link for the location of the "Main relay": http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelaydefine.html

I hope that will solve your problem, and don't assume, cause it will waste your money. Get an advice from the professionals, not from the quack mechanics, professionals will not assume, they will make sure what's the real problem so they can do the real deal, not to steal money from you.

I have been having a similar problem as others with ignition, sometimes it will not start.

It starts and runs just fine when it is cool or it has not been run for a while. However, when the engine is hot, it will not start for a good 15+/- minutes. There is no spark going to the engine, but it is definitely not a fuel related problem (at least not in my case).

Recently it has quit running as I was running down the highway. I had to get the car stopped from 65 mph without power brakes and get it off the road. Needless to say i was very frustrated, because not only is this problem annoying, but now is evolving into something dangerous.

I have heard that the distributor that is the problem but I havnt done anything about it.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I had the fuel pump changed in October, 2004 so what could be the problem. I'm not sure if it's the battery because it was changed in October, 2004 also.
