The first incidence occurred in July 1999 and the dealer attended to the ABS light on defect by R&R accumulator and ABS pump & repair leak, bleed ABS system & reset ECU. the ABS light remained off thereafter. Total repair cost was $193.0. the problem however crept up again in November 2000, and the dealer diagnosed the problem as internal failure in ABS modulator. the dealer advised that the modulator needs to be replaced and would cost $1200. Honda was contacted and offered to pay 20% of the repair cost.
