I was a happy '97 Honda Accord owner for 17 years until last week when my alternator went bad and I had it replaced, along with the battery since it was very old. After the repairs, the radio and CD changer need to have the theft-protection code re-entered in order for them to operate. Great, I reached into the ashtray for the original card (in its tiny plastic bag) for the code I was given when I purchased the Honda – the code no longer works. Called Honda's hotline and they tell me they changed the code and require $55 to access the new code!! What? Thanks a lot. This former "happy" Honda owner is now forced to drive without a radio playing or CDs playing just because corporate Honda arbitrarily changed the security code. What a way to treat a customer!
