Has anyone contacted the better business bureau? I my self have told all my family and friends to stay away from Honda. We buy are car for long term but when the paint start peeling it is shame to drive. So before you think of buying a car stay away from Honda.

I have seen several cars with this same problem in southern Maine so I know it's nothing I have done to the vehicle. It should be fixed as a recall. Apparently there are several others with the same problem and many others I'm sure who have not reported this.
I have owned a Honda Accord since 1990 and bought used 1998 and now have a 2007. I am very disappointed that this paint problem has not been recalled. Make good for this problem Honda.

paint peeling makes the car look bad and embarrassing.

The 98 Honda Accord EX V6 was bought brand new. The paint job looks like crap now as 50% of the car have peeled. I thought it was because I didn't take good care waxing and parking outside but looking around, I see most of not all dark cars in the same year having the same issue. One guy at work drives the same car with same paint except his is 4 door and it's got the exact same paint peel issue. This is my last Honda. Drives great but look like crap as it gets older.

I have seen multiple green hondas with the same issue, roof is peeling, sides of auto are peeling and the hood peeled off. I asked honda about it but they said they didn't have any recall on this item. I can't believe this considering the amount of issues I have seen with other green honda accords. I have occasionally mistaken other accords from mine since they all look the same (poor paint).

For the last year and a half the paint on my "Raisin" colored Accord has been "disappearing". It looks as if the sun is burning it off. I now have barely any paint left on the entire car. The few areas where there is paint, I can actually peel off with my hand. The clear coat was some cheap mixture probably imported from China. I see this problems happening on many Accords of this year. There is definitely a paint defect and Honda needs to step up and recall all of these vehicles for repainting. My sister has a Civic the same year (hers is a blue/green) and the same thing is happening. She lives in a different state. Perhaps all of 1998 Honda owners should band together for some results.

Our black car is slowly turning a whitish gray. We first noticed a small spot on the front of the roof of the car. Then, it grew. Two more spots came up on the truck. Now, every edge is losing paint. It looks like someone sanded it off. It's getting worse everyday. They used a poor grade paint and clearcoat.

I really like my car but it looks hideous with all the paint that has peeled off. There is literally only the metal that is showing now on the entire hood, lots on the roof and going down the back onto the trunk. It looks like car cancer, it just keeps spreading. I am going to contact the dealer and see if they can get me in contact with the painting distributor. Maybe they will offer to pay for the repainting of the vehicle. I have noticed that other same year/models/color around town have the same problem. Did anyone hear of a recall to this problem. I have only one estimate of getting it repainted and it was in the 1700.00 range.

the paint is coming off the trunk, hood, and the top of the car. white is showing thru. I now have 87000 miles on it, and I don't see anyone else's car loosing paint. I just hate paying to have it repainted. has there been any recalls

The paint on the 1998 Honda Accord is blotched, bleached and all the negative adjectives you can think of. In places, it is down to bare metal. I'm embarrassed to drive it and to be seen in public. I'm 92 years old and have maybe 2-3 years left driving. I've always maintained my cars in tip-top condition so why not now!
