Car would not pass emissions.p0401- egr valve malfunction. Told by Honda dealership that this problem was covered under an extended warranty (80,000 mi cutoff), but I would have to pay since my mileage was over 80k. $369 to fix prob. Turns out, prob can usually be corrected by cleaning the EGR Port located in the intake manifold. The 1998 Honda EX is nothing but problems and Honda offers no help. I have had to replace transmission, alternator, EGR Valve, fnt axles, suspension and more. All of this occurred before 90k. Even though I had done all required maintenance, Honda Corp. didn't give a rats ass. Won't buy another Honda.
