1998 Honda Accord, my SRS light came on for no known reason. The Honda dealership checked out my car, and informed me the airbag sensor unit is not working and my airbags are switched off. They cannot tell me way, claim they cannot repair this unit, and want $1200 to drop in a whole new sensor unit.
I find this totally unacceptable. I bought a new Honda on its safety record. The seat/airbag system should be warranted for the life of the car. The dealership will not talk to me, just pass me off to Honda head office. No help there yet.
I have been told there was a problem with the 1998 Accord SRS systems, but Honda did not want a recall and made a commitment to repair under warranty. My problem with the SRS is with the car not under warranty.

I started noticing that the SRS light comes on and go off, and comes back on again and stays on for few seconds and go off, and it keeps doing this number while I'm driving. I understand that the light should stay on if there is something wrong with the SRS system, but I don't know why my light comes on and go off like that.
Please advise what I should do and any guess how much it costs to repair

Was told bad battery may cause light to come on, I asked the adviser "what battery? for the SRS system?" he then said, well a bad battery would cause light to come on, and if we replace the battery, and light comes back on, then you will have to pay $700 to replace srs system..They replaced the car battery, light came back on next day, and two weeks later my car wouldn't start. When my husband checked the "new" battery, the bolts on top of BOTH terminals were loose. I do not want to go back to this dealer since its obvious they are trying to rake people over. Since my indicator light is still on, would like to know how to reset it.
