This problem was brought to my attention by my mechanic and I had it verified by another mechanic who as advised me that the sub-frame is rusted and I should consider retiring the vehicle. That's a shame given that the body is in decent shape except for the doors that have started to rust and that I was considering to change. I love the style of the vehicle and was hoping to keep it for some time in the future.

I was advised by the Honda service people that the subframe was rusted to the point the vehicle is unsafe to drive .It sure smells like a defect to me. I purchased this vehicle new and have had it serviced regularly . Apparently between the last oil change ( 3 mos. ago ) and this one all this rust out happened ??. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I have heard of cars thirty years old that have a gazillion miles on them and are still on the road!! I thought it was only the big three that built crappy cars

Front Sub-Frame rusted out right below the A/C condenser drain. Honda will not admit that the A/C drain location is the issue, but the drivers side of the car's Sub-Frame is practically rust free. I've always liked Honda products, but this has me thinking that this may be my last Honda that I'll own. Corporate greed is getting in the way of a very series design flaw that's a great safety issue. Honda, do the right thing and recall these cars before someone is seriously hurt or killed.
