Accord ES 3.2lv.6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

My vehicle has always been well maintained however over the past 6 weeks, I have experienced a loss of power intermittently while driving, it feels like the car does not increase to the acceleration , this happens for a maybe 10 seconds before it quickly picks up speed again. The other evening the car started bucking for a few minutes and then resumed normal speed just fine. The car has not yet stalled out on me and no dash board indicators have been observed. I brought the car to my mechanic and to date, he has not been able to identify the problem, feeling it needs to get worse before he can experience what I am experiencing and fix it as all the testing instruments he used have not identified the cause, he also took the car home 2 evenings after work.

Accord V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 151,000 miles

I purchased a used 1999 Honda Accord thinking that Honda made reliable and good running cars. (first mistake) I drive more than 120 miles a day to and from work. Usually on congested Los Angeles freeways. About a month after I bought the car I had issues with it randomly losing power while driving on the freeway. It would just die, and quickly re-engage. It would only happen once in a great while. The problem starting getting worse last month. then a couple weeks ago it stalled as i was traveling approx. 75 miles per hour in the middle of "where the hell am I U.S.A." It took about 20 mins. and many pounding on the dash before it finally re-started. Now it cuts out after bout 10 mins into every trip and takes up to 20 mins to restart. I can not begin to tell you how nervous and frightened i was as i attempted to carefully drive the rest of the way home. (stalling and waiting 6 times) I've recently read a lot of the posts regarding the 1999 Honda accord v6. I can't afford to throw money at things like Coil packs, ignition switches, Main relays, fuel pumps, Fuel pump relays etc. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE SPARE ME THE AGONY AND LET ME KNOW WHAT WORKED? I will NEVER buy another Honda. not even a lawnmower, motorcycle nothin. They would have to seriously make this situation right for me to consider it. I'm thinkin bout contacting the newspapers and local media.

loss of power

My 1999 Honda Accord blew out a valve while driving on the highway. The exhaust valve basically burnt out as seen on the posted pic.
