Transmission slippage. Dealer replaced under warranty with remanufactured transmission.

The "check engine" light came on within days after my 1999 Honda Accord ex V6 had 90K service at a Honda dealership, including a fuel induction service. The first trip back to the dealer resulted in the service department recording the code in their computer then turning the indicator lamp off in my Accord. The "check engine" lamp returned soon after leaving the dealership. On the 2nd visit, the dealership advised that the code indicated the egr valve was clogged. The service manager advised that Honda had extended the warranty for this problem but only for 8 years/80,000 miles. My car has 92K miles yet I was never advised of this known problem. The Honda dealership's own testing during the 90K service did not detect the emission problem and I see that many others with less mileage have experienced the same problem.
