Accord

New Honda Accord of only 10 months with 7000 miles burst into flames at 2:00am causing damage to car. Car showed no signs of any problems prior to fire except burglar alarm sounded twice on two separate occasions. Car was driven home from work, parked at 5:30pm under garage and at 2:00am flames were coming from engine compartment under hood.

A fire started under the hood while it was parked and turned off. State farm insurance company examined vehicle and determined that the fire started at a sensor in the wiring harness near horn. The bumper/ grill/ rubber/ radiator, and hood experienced damage. Dealership has yet to examine vehicle, and has been in possession of vehicle since June 8th, 2001. Honda has denied responsiblity.
