one day while driving, i hear clicking sound and all the electronic components reset...
radio goes off, clock resets, tachometer/speedometer go down to 0 and back...
just for 2 secs...and back to normal...then repeats every 5 mins until i stop driving the car for that day...the next day nothings wrong again...
the problem also starts occurring sometimes when i try to turn on my headlights...
this repeats every other week or so...
took it to the mechanic and he says there's nothing wrong with it and thinks i am paranoid...

It all started one Saturday night when I was pulling into the gas station. All of a sudden my headlights, stereo, AC, and dash went out and my needles on my dash shot down, but my engine was still running. 3 seconds later, everything turned back on and it was fine. Just the other morning, 2 weeks after my incident, it did it again while I was on my way to work. Except this time within about 2 minutes all electrical shut off about 20-30 times. 3 seconds off, 10-20 seconds back on, off again for another 3 seconds. And after those 2 minutes of electrical hell, it was fine. Drove to work and drove 16 miles back home, without a problem. I took it to AutoZone and they said I have a defective wire and I need to take it to the dealership. GREAT! Has anyone else come across this problem?

Actually the first problem I have had with my Honda. Only 42,000 miles on it. So fart this has happened to me two days in a row. Started okay, went to my destination. When I got back in the car all I got was a click click. I checked to see that transmission was in park, moved it back and forth tried again , click click. Opened the door raised the hood, checked the battery connections and all looked okay. Went back to car turned key and it started. Thought it was just a fluke and drove home. The next day I went to church, no problems. Went I got out of church went to car and click click. Raised hood, checked connections, no problem everything tight. tried to start up and it started. My worry is that one night I will be out and it I'll get the click click and it won't restart. If anyone else has this problem and came across a solution please let me know . thanks for any help.
Update from Apr 13, 2011: Problem resolved. I was afraid it was going to be my main relay after reading about its problems with Hondas but when I brought it to my mechanic all he did was replace the connector on my positive cable for the battery. Have had no problems since.
