problem #2

Nov 102010

Accord EX 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

The digital odometer is not readable because some segments of the numbers go out.

This problem started out as intermittent, but now it is more constant.

The Honda dealership told me it would be $600 to replace the odometer assembly, and send out the new one to be calibrated with the original mileage.

Option 2 for $400,would be to replace the odometer, not send it out for calibration, and place a sticker on the door jamb stating the original mileage when the odometer was replaced.

Option 2 would of course reduce the resale value of the car.

I am due for vehicle inspection on 9-2011,and I might fail if they can't read the mileage of the car.

I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY THING WRONG, OR EVEN ACT LIKE ITS GOING TO FALL OFF THIS CAR UNTIL LAST YEAR!!!!! as soon as i hit 140000 miles my car is falling apart!!! i have had this car for 4 years and taken great care of it... i do all my own servicing thanks to a mechanic brother! but one day i get in my car and the dash lights start to fade?? i didn't know what was going on so i turned the car off and restarted it and they never came back on and the dealership wants to charge me 100 bucks just to tell me whats wrong with it.. but from some research i found out its the mulit-plex unit?? and that there is a recall on the lx models .. what gives ????? just because mine has leather seats and a dang sun roof its not covered under the recalls?????
