Accord SE 2.3

The alarm kept going off intermittently. Performance Honda in Fairfield, Ohio said it might be the security box and replaced it. the alarm went off later that day. Then they said they would put their best troubleshooter on it. He said it was the hood switch and replaced it. Finally fixed. $350 later.

Accord EX 4.2vtec

A problem from the get-go...the security system is a beast with a mind of its own. Too often, it has locked me out of the car. At random times, when I unlock the car but do not open a door (usually when I want access via a non-driver's door), turn away, walk away, drop the keys indoors--bam, down go the locks... and I have to fetch the keys, unlock it again, make sure a door is open. There is no predicting when it will do this.

I have picked up on a possible pattern when the trunk lid also is up. Lid up, doors lock(sometimes)--is this "normal"?
