When car is driven during hot days and you turn the car off, it will not start again tell the car cools off. This happens during the summer months.now that the car is older, it will not start at all during some of the hot days. This include when I start the car for first time that day. Took the car in once years ago and they said they fixed it but I keep having the same problem. They wanted to charge me more money to try to fix it again. Front passage headlights always been foggy. Car also never hugged the road right. Dealership could never find the problem.

Recently purchased 2000 Honda Accord LX and brought it to an independent garage for inspection. Upon inspection he found the rear passenger side F the engine sub frame rotted out and unsafe to drive. Cause was from the air conditioning drain pipe placement.

I bought my 2000 Honda Accord 4cyl. About one month ago from an owner. Drove perfect for the first week. Then one morning my brake pedal got really soft. After checking all fluids and leaks found out that my brake lines were rusted. I took my vehicle to a small shop to get my brake lines replaced. I then got a call a few days later saying I should go down and check something they noticed on my car. Turns out the passenger subframe is rusted and rotted out. Everything else underneath the car is clean. The mechanic said it's weird that only the passenger side subframe is rusted. He told me it could break apart anytime. Being that it's no longer safe to drive I have to get it replaced now. The cost is going to be about $1200 with labor. When I got home I started doing some research and found that there are thousands of other people who are having the same problem as I do on their Honda Accord. Honda should do a recall on this being it's a structural component to car and safety issue. Hopefully Honda will recall this subframe problem and reimburse me later.

I fear my vehicle is being denied a recall due to it by Honda. My vehicle failed its annual emissions test on Aug. 22. the state sent me a notice informing me that my 2000 Honda Accord was part of a recall class in 2004 that was connected to an emissions problem. I received no alert from Honda about such a recall. When I asked Honda about it this week, they told me my car was not part of the recall class. And they claimed that they could determine this by my car's VIN -- that the VIN indicated it was not part of the recall class. So I am asking for your help to determine if my vehicle is part of the recall. Based on my review of your "2004 annual summary of emission related recall" (www.epa.gov/otaq/cert/recall/420B05022.pdf), it seems like it is part of the class. Thank you for your help.

I first noticed that when the car was idling, it didn't sound exactly right. Then about a week later we noticed that when we began to stop, the car jumped. After that when you go to take off from being stopped the car will rev up the rpms and then the motor catches up and jerks into gear. When we called and talked to a mechanic (highly known for transmissions) about it, he told us that they have been having a lot of problems with the 1998-2000 model Honda, after 100,000 miles doing this, that the transmission is going out on it, that we need to have it replaced. I was expecting to have this car for a long, long time, as Honda is known for being a very reliable car.

Transmission failed but car was far past the extended warranty that existed from the 2006 class action lawsuit covering this make/model vehicle. Dealership never informed the existence of a recall.
