The engine light has been a problem what seems like for ever on my 2000 Honda Accord

V6. My mechanic told me it was an airflow problem and $1200 later I was told I would never have another problem again, well the light came back on again and again and I was EGR valved to death and gave up finally just paying for inspection stickers.I was due for inspection again this year and went to FireStone in Toms River and I will give props to these guys all day long. I was told same thing an air flow problem and it needed a kit to drill out the ports because their was a recall I never was aware of and it was pass due so once again Honda blew it off. The FireStone guys did what the other guy I thought had done for approx. $575.00 and it did not fix the problem in witch they took it upon themselves and replaced the sensors with no luck so they sent me down to Honda witch I new would be a problem. Honda decided it was a censor that FireStone had put in and it was no good, so FireStone picked up the ridiculas tab of $580.00 for me and once again the light came on so I was sent back to Honda and they decided the car needs a Valve job and if that does not work I needed all new fuel injectors for a total of $2,500 and at that point Iknew that they were nuts and, that work was not necessary and I wanted my car back but Honda wanted another $300 diagnostic fees witch I refused to pay and did not!! especially after i had just spent $2900 on a new tranny that Honda wanted $4900 to do. Anyway I had to travel about 100 miles for work and decided to unplug the battery and see what the long drive non stop would do to reset the engine light and when I got back to my area the light was still off and headed strait to Motor Vehicles and passed inspection. Just remember nobody ever mentioned it took a non stop ride of 65 miles plus to completely reset the computer not stop and go miles!!!

You would think the Einsteins at the dealerships weren't such putzes!!!!! I will never visit any or ever purchase another Honda again but I will give props to the FireStone that was standing behind all their work and went above anf beyond at no additional expense to me not like the dealer who was throwing darts at the wall and expected payment for nothing!!!! HONDA BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

check engine came on, had a coolant leak at first, then had another check engine light, had checked, had a misfire on #3 cylinder. had head checked out, no problems, had plugs, wires, battery install, fuel system cleaned, then had another check engine light, took to dealer, again had a misfire on #3 cyl. replaced all 4 injectors, had head checked again, three months later (10/1/07) had another check engine light, another misfire on #3, has carbon stuck on injector, 2 dealership mechanics dont know what caused this, have no clue what is wrong!! cost so far about $3,000
