Driving a 2000 Honda Accord (4 cylinder) at approximately 25 miles per hour. Making a right hand turn. Total loss of power to automobile. Complete engine shutdown. Engine restart after second attempt but complete failure again. Check engine light and all dash instrumentation illuminated prior to second engine failure. Car towed to Honda dealership. Owner informed that egr valve failed. Owner informed that it was impossible for the egr to fail while car was in motion. That simply is not true as this failure indeed happened to this vehicle while in motion. Total repair cost not provided at this time. No prior indication of egr problems prior to this incident.

The engine light went on, the code said bad egr valve, so it was cleaned out, when that didn't work, the egr valve was replaced and 8 months later the engine light came on again saying that the egr valve is malfunctioning again.

The tranmission will shift gears very losely and makes a clunking sound but only when it is in reverse. Now it shifts slugishly. Took dealer to the dealer twice and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Now they think it is the motor mounts. The first time this happened was in October of 2002. Dash board lighting goes blank. A faulty multiflex light unit was found. Front brakes worn. Check engine light was on. Found faulty egr valve assembly and replaced. SRS light is on. Faulty opds unit was found.

Various problems with 2000 Honda Accord. The alternator failed, the egr valve failed, the SRS light illuminated, the driver's seat back panel had fallen due to S defective plastic anchor pin, the A/C stopped working, and the front passenger door seal at the bottom was falling off.

Egr valve went bad on the car. Internet search shows that this happens to many people. Asked dealer to fix the problem as it was a defect. They said it wasn't. I had to pay since it was affecting my fuel economy. It was replaced by a new, different type of valve. That makes me think the original part was bad.
