The check engine light came on. The consumer had taken the vehicle to a mechanic, and they found the code P1457. Then he took it to a dealership, which found the same code when checking for the problem. They said that it was because there was an internal problem with the evaporation system. Discovered a leak within the system by doing a smoke test. It was in a canister in the emission system. They replaced the canister and the valve that was connected with it, parts 17011S84A00 and 17310S84L31. The consumer contacted the manufacturer, who told the consumer that they had no other complaints about this issue. The consumer was concerned because he had found other complaints involving the code P1457 on a website, www.answer.com.

Engine check light came on for the second time within a year. The first time I was told that the computer was too sensitive and they had to order a new computer - wait was approx 3-4 months. This happened at 3600 miles and was covered under warranty. Less than a year later the engine check light came on, and the dealer told me it was oxygen sensor and it had to be replaced. The emission control system is unreliable for this to happen within 53K miles.
