When shifting to reverse, loud thump comes from under car. Upon initial startup, engine makes loud thump, motor seems to shift or move, creak or tapping noise coming from front supsension or frame of car when moving forward from complete stop, dealer could not find problem.

Owner was contacted 01/04/00 by dealer, and told that manufacturer will be shipping a complete transmission assembly to replace factory installed transmission. Dealer stated that upon their receipt of transmission, they will contact owner to schedule 2-3 day R&R of defective transmission. Owner is concerned about potential future powertrain failures due to the complexity and scope of this proceedures which will take place at dealership. Owner would expect extended powertrain warranty for this vehicle.
