The fuel and brake lines rusted and were close to breaking. This can result in a very dangerous situation. Replacing the lines is an all day repair, tedious and expensive.

These cars seem to rust a bit too easily. The rust is worst in the back fenders, followed by the door edges, particularly the driver side (makes sense this that's the door that is opened and closed most often.)
